Dress code
We want to provide excellent dance lessons and we want our dancers to look the part too. A uniform creates a sense of pride, unity, achievement and belonging.
A tidy appearance sets the tone for focused work, and a well-dressed dancer shows they are ready and eager to learn. Not all classes require a uniform. Please do not wear jewellery. Large or distracting jewellery is a safety risk to you and others.
Visit this page for the correct dress code for each dance style.
Theft and damage
Ndigo is not responsible for theft or damage to personal belongings. If possible, leave valuable items at home. If you have a mobile phone with you, bring it to the studio with you. Turn your phone off, not just on silent. Even on silent, phones can still make unwanted noise.
What we expect from students in the studio
- Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early so you have time to use the toilet, get changed, remove jewellery and tie your hair back neatly.
- Always arrive on time for your lesson. If you are running late, come in quietly and wait for your teacher's permission before entering the dance floor. After the lesson, you can apologise for being late.
- Pay close attention, especially when waiting for your turn. You do not want to look untidy or bored. Do not sit down unless you are asked to do so.
- During the lesson, listen carefully when your teacher speaks. Do not talk while they are talking, not even quietly to your neighbour. Bullying and violence, whether verbal or physical, will not be tolerated.
- Stay for the whole lesson. It is always best to attend the entire lesson, but if you need to leave early, discuss this with your teacher beforehand and leave as quickly and discreetly as possible.
- Show good spatial awareness. This means giving your teacher space, but also not crowding students at the back of the room.
- No chewing gum, food or drinks other than water in the studio.
- Never stop halfway through an exercise.
- Do your best. If you are taking a dance lesson that is above your skill level, do not give up and do not sit frustrated. Keep going and do your best — no one will hold it against you.
- Be polite and respectful. Clap and thank your teacher at the end of the lesson.
Class changes and cancellations
Circumstances change and sometimes we need to shorten, postpone or cancel a lesson. Our team always does its best to let you and the students know in advance so you can plan accordingly.
Refund policy
If you stop attending lessons, the registration fee will not be refunded.
Exception
You can only recover lessons as a discount code if you provide a medical certificate. The code will be worth the remaining lessons, minus a 15 euro administration fee. This arrangement comes into effect as soon as you report your absence. The discount code is in your name and can only be used for lessons and camps. The code is valid for one year.
Force majeure
In case of force majeure, refunds are not possible. In such cases, we will try to arrange alternative lessons. We will compensate where possible and ask for your understanding in these exceptional circumstances. Membership fees are never refunded in case of force majeure.
Before and after lessons
Ndigo is not responsible for students before and after lessons. Please do not stay unnecessarily in the dance school outside lesson times. Please collect children on time.
Changing rooms
Students can only change clothes in the changing rooms. That is what they are there for. Changing in public areas is not only inappropriate, but probably also awkward for people waiting in those areas.
Teachers and staff
Students and parents must be respectful towards teachers, board members and other students at Ndigo, and follow their instructions.
Photos and video
Ndigo uses photos and video only for promotional purposes on our website, social media and so on.
If you do not want your photos or videos to be used on our website or other promotional materials, please let us know in advance via your account on www.ledenbeheer.be.
Students must not film or take photos during lessons. Always ask your teacher for permission before recording or photographing any part of your lesson.
Insurance
During trial lessons, the dance school is not responsible for any accidents. All members are automatically insured when you pay for lessons. This insurance is valid for one year.
If an accident happens during a lesson, ask your teacher for an insurance form. Pass this to the parents or carers to fill in so you can claim reimbursement for medical care if needed.
If these terms are not followed, Ndigo has the right to deny you access to lessons and the building.
