For your dancer

The style where many children find themselves.

Your child wants to dance to the music they already listen to. No worrying about "what suits me" — just moving to what feels right. Hip hop is often the first style where a child truly clicks.

Our hip hop teacher works on groove, technique and combinations, with plenty of room for personal expression. The atmosphere is open, the bar is high, but nobody gets left behind.

"It was a really rewarding year at Ndigo. I've grown in my confidence and in my moves. The classes always have a great vibe. I started in September a bit nervous, but now I truly feel at home."

What hip hop gives

More than cool moves.

Hip hop trains more than the body. Your dancer learns to be present, take up space and work with a group that keeps coming back every week.

01 · Confidence

A presence you can see

Hip hop asks you to show up. Children learn to look at themselves in the mirror and own the space. That confidence carries well beyond the studio walls.

02 · Foundations

Technique under the flow

Isolations, grooves, musicality. Not just choreography, but building blocks that fit everywhere.

03 · Musicality

Feeling the music, not just counting

Accents, pauses, texture. Your dancer learns to read the music and add something of their own.

04 · Community

A crew that matters

The same faces, week after week. Many of our dancers make friends here who grow with them.

05 · Freestyle

Daring to move without a script

Room for freestyle in every class. No pressure, but a clear framework. Your dancer learns to improvise and finds a style of their own.

06 · Discipline

Train, repeat, grow

Repeating a combo until it lands. Polishing the details. Hip hop teaches perseverance on the dancer's own terms.

A class at Ndigo

60 minutes, four blocks.

Every hip hop class follows the same structure: groove warm-up, drills, combination and freestyle. That framework gives support and lets the teacher go a step further each week.

00:00

Groove warm-up

Bounces, rocks, isolations — the basics that return every class. The body loosens up, the energy builds.

10:00

Drills & foundations

Isolations, footwork, grooves — targeted drills that increase in difficulty per level.

25:00

Combination

A choreography that brings the whole class together. Built over several weeks, giving your dancer time to add detail and style.

45:00

Freestyle & wrap-up

Cyphers, small groups, or simply moving in the mirror. Space to apply what they have learnt, in their own way. The class closes in the circle.

Frequently asked questions

Questions parents and dancers often ask.

Do you need dance experience to join?

No. Every group starts from the basics and the teacher adjusts the difficulty. Beginners are always welcome.

What clothing is needed?

Ndigo Sweatpants and a black top or T-shirt of your choice. Clean trainers. Suggestion: Ndigo Cropped Top. Available in our shop. For the trial class, sportswear is fine.

Are there different levels?

Yes. Minis & Kids (Years 3–6 primary), Juniors (Years 1–3 secondary), Teens & Adults (Years 4–6 secondary and 18+). There are also audition classes for those who want more.

Can my child join halfway through the season?

Yes. The structure repeats, so your child picks up the rhythm quickly. The semester fee is adjusted to your start date.

Is there a show at the end of the year?

Yes, in June on the stage of the Schouwburg theatre in Roeselare. Every hip hop group dances its own choreography. The costume is included in the semester fee.
