Their first dance step, in safe hands.
A young child learns to move through play, imitation and imagination. At Ndigo those three come first — we focus on the process, not the result.
Play, jump, dance.
45 minutes of imagination per week, coloured by music. We work on gross and fine motor skills, rhythm and confidence.
© Ndigo · Studio 1 Dance fun first, technique comes later.
Between three and six, a child discovers their body and the space around them. We work with fun themes so the little ones grow in flexibility, dance steps and expression — all in a safe place.
Parents are welcome to watch from the lounge.
"My daughter wants to dance all week. She is still counting down to Saturday."
Eline V. , parent of Lou (4)More than pretty steps.
Better body awareness, spatial understanding and social skills.
Fine and gross coordination
Standing on one leg, hopping left to right, hands above the head — built up through familiar exercises every week.
Rhythm and sense of beat
Clapping, stomping, stopping — the class uses musical silence and acceleration to train a sense of beat through play.
Stories become movement
We work with dance adventures like Underwater World, The Jungle, The Hot Air Balloon. Each story stretches the imagination. We dance with props like balloons, dots and scarves to spark expression.
Together and taking turns
Pre-school Dance teaches waiting your turn, choosing a partner, following the group. Small social lessons with a big impact.
You can do it.
Every class has a moment where each child gets to "show" something. A dance pose or a step — the look in their eyes says it all.
Ready for ballet, modern or jazz
Children who start with us move smoothly into ballet, modern or jazz in Year 1 primary.
45 minutes of fun.
Pre-schoolers work in short tasks of a few minutes. Short enough for their attention span. Every class ends with the same ritual — predictability builds trust.
Arriving & gathering
Sit in the circle on the dots, listen to the theme, read out the dancers' names and strike a pose in the circle.
Warm-up to music
Moving to the music, warming up the body. Fine motor skills through play.
Themes and stories
In the Forest, Pirates, On an Adventure… The story drives the movements — big, small, heavy, light, fast, slow.
Crossing the floor
Targeted exercises each class: gallops, hops, skips, marching, crawling, jumping, or a combination.
The little dance
The practised dance of the week. A new section is added each week, so the dancers learn to memorise.
Closing together & the Goodbye Train
A children's yoga stretch, form a train and wave. Bow or high five, and see you next time. The same closing every week.
Two slots per week, for pre-schoolers.

Concerns parents often share.
Is my 3-year-old too young?
From age 3 (and potty-trained during the day). We work in short blocks of 5 to 8 minutes so little ones don't get overwhelmed. Some children don't join in straight away — they watch and listen. Week by week they gain confidence, and before long they're dancing.
What should she wear?
Girls wear the Ndigo leotard and ballet shoes. Boys wear a white t-shirt, black shorts and ballet shoes or socks. Hair always tied back.
What if my child cries at the first class?
It happens, and that is fine. The teacher brings your child into the circle and gives them a few minutes to settle. We ask them to watch from the circle first. Often they join in before long.
Can I watch during the class?
From the lounge (with wi-fi and coffee) you can watch through the window.
Is there a show at the end of the year?
Yes, in May on stage at de Spil in Roeselare. Pre-school Dance performs their dance on the Sunday show.
Can I join mid-season?
Yes. Pre-schoolers pick up the rhythm quickly. The semester fee is adjusted to your start date.
