For advanced ballet dancers

The class you've been waiting for if you take ballet seriously.

You already take ballet at Ndigo or elsewhere, and you feel ready for more. Working on pointe, learning classical variations, digging deeper into the technical detail.

Pointes & Repertoire is that next step. Our teacher is ABT-certified and builds each term around a variation from the classical repertoire, alongside a parallel track on pointe technique. Places are deliberately limited.

Not sure whether your level is the right fit? Just ask.

"Our daughter danced at Ndigo for many years and is now studying at the professional dance programme at the Royal Ballet School in Antwerp. We notice every day how much she has carried with her from her time with you."

What Pointes & Repertoire adds

Six layers that deepen your ballet training.

This is not a standalone class, but a supplement to your existing ballet training. Everything you learn here strengthens your technique in the regular ballet class and vice versa.

01 · Pointes

Pointe work that holds

Ankles, feet, placement — everything needed to stand safely and strongly on pointe. Built up gradually, never rushed.

02 · Repertoire

Variations that lift your level

Excerpts from Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Giselle. One variation per term, worked through in depth.

03 · Feedback

Personal corrections in a small group

Fewer dancers, more attention. Questions get answered and corrections carry through from week to week.

04 · Prevention

Strong ankles and feet, no injuries

Pointe work demands preparation. We invest in strength and stability so your daughter can stand safely on pointe for years to come.

05 · Context

The stories behind the classics

Who was Giselle? Why does Odile dance differently from Odette? The story gives the movement meaning and the dancer purpose.

06 · Progression

Preparation for pre-professional

Several former students have gone on to the Royal Ballet School Antwerp and Fontys. This class lays that foundation.

A typical class

60 minutes, three blocks.

Every class is built in three phases: warm-up and pointe technique, repertoire study, and refinement. The intensity is high, the group is small, the focus is sharp.

00:00

Barre & pointe warm-up

Relevés, échappés, sous-sus — ankles and feet warmed up for pointe work. First on demi-pointe, then full pointe.

15:00

Pointe technique in the centre

Piqués, bourrées, pirouettes on pointe. Strength, balance and individual corrections.

35:00

Repertoire study

The term's variation, broken down, repeated, refined. The teacher puts each piece in context: story, style, era.

55:00

Révérence & discussion

Closing with a révérence. Time for questions, progress feedback and pointers for home practice.

Frequently asked questions

Questions parents and dancers often ask.

Is this class suitable if my daughter has never been on pointe?

Yes, provided she has the right ballet foundation. The teacher starts with the fundamentals and builds up gradually. Safety always comes first.

Does she already need to be taking ballet at Ndigo?

Not necessarily. Dancers from other schools are welcome, provided their technical level is sufficient. We assess that together.

What pointe shoes does she need?

Properly broken-in pointe shoes that suit her foot type. The teacher advises on brand and fit. Demi-pointes can also work at the start.

How many places are there per group?

A maximum of 12 dancers, so the teacher can guide each one individually.

Can she combine this class with the regular ballet class?

Absolutely — that is the idea. Pointes & Repertoire supplements the regular ballet class; it does not replace it.
